About us - how it all started

"Everything started with a lively discussion around the kitchen table.
We all shared our experiences of booking trips that were then cancelled, the  long wait times for refunds, and the uncertainty of when, if ever, the refunds would come.
The situation got even worse when the Covid-19 pandemic swept the world.    Even the large, established companies cancelled trips, and refunds became    even more unreliable. Some Airline companies began issuing travel vouchers  with virtually impossible use-by-dates, and the money seemed to be lost          forever.
 

This is where the idea of Vaulter was born.

We had found a problem without any solutions – and we realized that it            would be hugely beneficial for both the consumers and the travel industry if  we could find one.
So, we decided to create that solution, but how? Simply put, we wanted to      even the playing field in the travel industry, making sure to create equal        protection both for the seller and the buyer. We did this by automating and  simplifying the protections of something that has always existed, escrowing."

This way making sure both parties can safely trust that they will receive what    was promised.
So how would this work in practice? Simple. When you pay for   your trip with    Vaulter, a part of that payment goes to keeping your payment   safe until            you’ve checked in, meaning that you can receive an instant refund if   the trip    were to be cancelled before that. At the same time, as we hold the   funds,        we also protect companies from the losses in revenue caused by no-                  shows.   
Now that we have developed it, we are confident that our services have the      potential to go global and really make a difference."
